Kick it old school and teach your kids to write letters or post cards while you’re away instead of emailing or texting. Use maps of the places you’ll go to add a personal touch.
Custom Cards
You'll Need:
- blank post cards and/or note cards with envelopes
- 1 fold-out map of your holiday destination
- white glue
- scissors or utility knife
1. For post card, cut out a piece of the map .5 cm (1/4 inch) smaller than the card on all sides.
2. Centre and glue to the front of the card.
3. For notecards, cut a strip of the map about 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide.
4. Measure from the bottom edge on the front of the note card and mark with a pencil for positioning.
5. Glue the strip where marked and trim excess paper on both sides.
6. For the inside of the envelope flap, trace the shape of the flap onto your map. Trim off at the top edge to allow the glue strip to remain exposed.
7. Spread a thin layer of glue on the inside envelope flap (avoiding the glue strip).
8. Slip your map piece into place and press flat.
