A perfect soft-boiled egg is simple, yet special. To fancy it up, grate some Parmesan into soft butter and stir the two together; spread over the bread and toast in a hot pan for crispy, cheesy dippers. There are few better breakfasts. Soft boil as many eggs and toast as much bread as you like.
Ingredients
1 egg
1 slice bread
butter
Directions
Put enough water into a medium saucepan to cover an egg (don't put the egg in yet) and bring to a boil. Gently lower in the egg, reduce the heat and simmer for exactly 6 minutes.
Gently remove from the water with a slotted spoon and place upright in an egg cup while you toast and butter the bread.
Tap the top of the egg with a spoon to break the shell and peel it off, leaving a hole. Cut the toast into strips narrow enough that they can be dipped into the egg. Serves mom.
