Chocolate Crackle Cookies - Parents Canada

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
icing sugar, for rolling

Directions

Preheat oven to 350ยฐF. In aย large bowl, beat the butterย and sugars until light. Beat inย the eggs and vanilla. In a smallย bowl, stir together the flour,ย cocoa, baking powder and salt.ย Add to the butter mixture andย stir just until the dough comesย together.

Place a few spoonfuls of icingย sugar into a shallow dish. Rollย the dough into 1-inch ballsย and roll the balls in icing sugarย to coat. Place them a coupleย inches apart on a parchment-linedย sheet. Bake for 12โ€“14ย minutes, until just set aroundย the edges but still soft in theย middle. Transfer to a wire rackย to cool. Makes about 2 dozenย cookies.
