MedicAlert, a Canadian charity specializing in personalized medical bracelets, wants students to help make health safety stylish.
The charity is seeking entries for the new design of a new MedicAlert sports band. The winning design will be created and included in MedicAlert’s 2013 product line.
“For various reasons, maybe they’re embarrassed, maybe they’re confused about how to protect themselves – or maybe they just think they’re invincible – kids can resist safety measures,” Robert Ridge, the CEO of MedicAlert, said.
Ridge hopes the contest will raise kids’ awareness of the importance of back-to-school health safety.
More than 65,000 Canadian students (age 14 and under) are protected by MedicAlert, most commonly because of nut and drug allergies, asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy.
If your child would like to enter the MedicAlert contest, visit their website to download the Make School Safety Stylish kids’ pack.
The package includes safety tips to share with kids and the design template. Entries will be accepted from July 31 to September 28 and open to students from kindergarten to grade eight.
