Since its Canadian debut in 1994, new, nutrition-minded choices have been added to the Happy Meal so parents can feel good about the options they’re feeding their families. This summer, a new Happy Meal will be thrilling a new generation (and probably many of their parents, too).
McDonald’s has recently released a brand-new Carrot Happy Meal, where baby carrots will be offered as a side option for the first time in Canada. Baby carrots will replace apple slices until August 30 or while supplies last. The Carrot Happy Meal is available in-restaurant, at the Drive-Thru, through the McDonald’s app and McDelivery.
With the addition of carrots to the Happy Meal menu, McDonald’s continues to show its commitment to families with a focus on nutrition-minded, affordable meal options, as well as creating meaningful impact in other ways. For instance, in 2017, McDonald’s Canada introduced the book or toy option for Happy Meals and has since distributed more than 10 million books to Canadian families.
Plus, for every Happy Meal purchase, a donation is made to Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada to help over 26,000 families annually stay together when their child is being treated at a hospital. With the help of Canadians, this program has raised more than $81 million for Canadian families with sick children to-date.
