Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
icing sugar, for rolling
Directions
Preheat oven to 350Ā°F. In aĀ large bowl, beat the butterĀ and sugars until light. Beat inĀ the eggs and vanilla. In a smallĀ bowl, stir together the flour,Ā cocoa, baking powder and salt.Ā Add to the butter mixture andĀ stir just until the dough comesĀ together.
Place a few spoonfuls of icingĀ sugar into a shallow dish. RollĀ the dough into 1-inch ballsĀ and roll the balls in icing sugarĀ to coat. Place them a coupleĀ inches apart on a parchment-linedĀ sheet. Bake for 12ā14Ā minutes, until just set aroundĀ the edges but still soft in theĀ middle. Transfer to a wire rackĀ to cool. Makes about 2 dozenĀ cookies.
