After the initial celebration of your pregnancy wears off, it is time to
get to work, preparing for the arrival of your little one. Feeling
nervous is natural, but being as ready as possible is a good way to fend
off fears.
A good place to start is with the baby’s room. The last thing you want
to do is be surprised with an early delivery and have a half-completed
nursery. A bassinet or crib should be your first purchase, followed by a
change table, dresser, and glider or rocking chair. Once the main
components are in the room, the rest will come together.
Next, focus on stocking the nursery with all the must-haves for baby’s
arrival: bedding, sleepers and onesies, diapers, wipes and bibs. Don’t
forget bathing supplies too, including a baby bathtub, towels, shampoos
and lotions, and small washcloths.
Mom’s checklist
Baby bag, packed and ready to go
Include all the essentials—diapers, wipes, cute “going home” baby outfits and receiving blankets.
Car seat
Without a properly installed car seat, you
won’t even be allowed to leave the hospital. Do your research and
purchase the right car seat for your little family.
A mobile or musical toy
You’ll be amazed at how much your baby will love it.
Feeding accessories
Breastfeeding pillows, breastpump, bottles and formula. Get ready because babies love to eat.
Stroller
Strollers come in all styles and colours. Give them a test drive around the store before purchasing. |
