This holiday season as you wrap and place gifts for your little ones under the tree, feel good about powering up your purchases with Duracell’s Powering Holiday Smiles campaign. Joining forces with Hilary Duff, Duracell is encouraging Canadians everywhere to power good and support a worthy cause.

“I was approached about the campaign and what they were doing and thought it was such a great idea,” Hilary said. “As a parent, I’m proud to join Duracell’s campaign to help power smiles this holiday season. Helping children is a cause close to my heart, which is why I’m encouraging Canadians to get involved and make a difference.”

As part of her work with Powering Holiday Smiles, Hilary took time out of her schedule to visit Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). “It was great to visit with families who benefit from this program, and to watch so many little faces light-up as we handed out this year’s must-have toys,” said Hilary.

As a special treat, Hasbro, in partnership with Duracell, was also in attendance and donated toys to SickKids and other Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across Canada. Toys available for little ones to enjoy included Furby, Furreal Friends and Sesame Street brands.

Until December 27, 2013 the Duracell will donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network for every pack of Duracell Quantum AA-16 batteries that Canadians purchase, with a minimum of $25,000 to be donated.
