Jane always wanted to be an entrepreneur and jumped at the chance to purchase ParentsCanada over five years ago. Jane Media Inc. was born and with it, transforming ParentsCanada to a top digital destination for Canadian parents. “I wanted ParentsCanada to continue to be a trusted resource for parents when they search for parenting advice. Raising happy healthy kids is not an easy job, we all need help and that’s when our tagline was born “Here to Help with Expert Advice”. Jane loves traveling (who doesn’t), floating in her pool with her husband on hot days, golfing and spending time with wonderful friends. Jane is a mom of two grown-up boys, Brad and Jason.
A veteran of the magazine industry, Katie joined the ParentsCanada team as editor-in-chief in 2018 and in 2022, moved to the position of executive editor overseeing the content strategy for all of our platforms. With two little girls at home (Sophie, 11, and Juliette, 8) she is deep in the parenting trenches, and has a passion for supporting other moms and dads with top-notch content. She firmly believes that it takes a village, and that the village is made up of everyone from the friends and family who pitch in daily, to the writers who research the articles you find when you’re googling in the middle of the night. She has a soft spot for legacy brands like ParentsCanada, who have been contributing to the Canadian media landscape for decades.
Amy happily wears an editorial hat as senior editor at ParentsCanada where she focuses on food and lifestyle content.Over the last 12+ years, her career has pivoted from journalism to copywriting, strategy and advertising. She's held editorial and social media roles at FLARE and Today’s Parent. When not working, she's behind a pottery wheel or renovating her 130-year-old house.
Lori Dickson is a sales and marketing professional. From her time overseeing corporate sales at The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto to joining ParentsCanada 10 years ago, there is no one who provides the depth of care in overseeing client campaigns. Lori loves spending time outdoors with her husband and two kids. They enjoy hiking with their two dogs, skiing in the winter, golfing in the summer and travelling whenever possible. She loves to cook, entertain, and binge watch new Netflix series! Her superpower is helping brands grow.
Gail is a seasoned broadcaster who spent many years working for Leafs TV, NBA TV Canada and The Weather Network. She is a certified teacher who currently teaches at McMaster University. But her favourite job is being a mom! As our product editor, Gail loves to find the best baby products and test them out, to save you time and energy!
Shardae is a digital marketing professional and mom of two young kids. From digital marketing to direct sales, her diverse background has shaped her into a marketing solution maker. As Digital Manager of Parents Canada, she manages campaigns, website content and many things in between. She loves spending time outdoors and travelling with her family.
Alyssa Dow is a Senior Graphic Designer and busy mom of three. She loves designing magazines and has experience in both the editorial and marketing sides of publishing and has worked on a number of national magazines. When she’s not designing or chasing after her little ones you can find her baking, gardening, and learning about all things homesteading!
After a 25+ year career in advertising, Bonnie (and her husband, their Portuguese Water Dog Posy and their deaf, rescue cat Mr. Bingley) are living their dream life in an old house, by a lake, in a small town. A dedicated home cook and self professed cook book collector, Bonnie looks forward to sharing her recommendations with the ParentsCanada community. “We all know that getting food on the table night after night can be exhausting and intimidating.” By curating and testing books and recipes with busy parents in mind, she hopes to inspire, engage and hopefully excite parents and kids to find the joy in meal times spent together.
Lisa is all about numbers and keeping ParentsCanada all on financial track. With her degree from Mount Allison University and Chartered Professional Accountant designation she knows her checks and balances. Lisa is a mom of two young men, 14 and 13 and summers in Nova Scotia every year (her family home).
