Ingredients for Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Thyme
6–8 boneless pork loin chops
salt and pepper
canola or olive oil, for cooking
2 sprigs fresh thyme
2–4 tbsp butter
1 apple, cored and sliced
Instructions for Skillet Pork Chops with Apples and Thyme
- Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Set a heavy skillet over medium-high, add a drizzle of oil and cook chops for 2–3 min per side, or until just cooked through. As the chops cook, pull the leaves off the sprigs of thyme and sprinkle over meat. Remove chops from the pan when they are finished cooking and set aside on a plate.
- To the same pan, add butter. It will foam up at first but when this subsides, add the apple slices. Cook for 2–3 min, until apples are just tender and golden.
- Serve pork chops with the sautéed apple slices.
Serves 4–6.
